Toronto 2018 Annual Meeting
There are only q months left until the 26th annual NASMDA meeting. The meeting is being held from July 12th–15th at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, in Toronto Canada. This landmark hotel is one of the premier 5 star hotels in Toronto, and is where the Queen of England stays when she visits Canada. We have been able to secure an amazing rate of $299 (CAD)/ $239 (USD), which is over 50% off the normal rate. (When selecting number of guests only count ADULTS, as children are FREE)
We have finalized an amazing CME schedule and are looking forward to showcasing Sikh physicians who are making amazing contributions in their fields. This will be eligible for 8 hours of Category 1 CME.
In addition to the medical lectures, we have arranged for an exciting excursion on Friday afternoon to the Sikh Heritage Museum of Canada, the SEVA food bank, and the Punjabi Community Health Clinic. This will be a great opportunity to see some inspirational as well as grass roots community efforts that we can all learn from, and hopefully incorporate into our own communities.
Lastly, we are extremely excited to be launching the inaugural Sikh Professionals Convention in conjunction with the NASMDA meeting. This effort has been born out of the desire to grow the network of Sikh Professionals beyond those in the medical/dental fields. Each of you will be receiving an email explaining this event, and we encourage everyone to forward this to other Sikh professionals in your own personal network, that you think would like to be early pioneers or leaders of this exciting new initiative. We have confirmed some amazing leaders in the community such as Ravinder Singh Bhalla, the first turbaned Sikh mayor elected in the U.S. as well as others that will be addressing this convention.
Our hope is that everyone will be as excited about this event as we are in organizing it. However, an event can only be as good as the people attending it, and in order to finalize details, we need to know how many people will be attending. We know that everyone has extremely busy schedules, and we all keep thinking that we will take care of it tomorrow (I myself have been guilty of this on numerous occasions) but it is difficult to plan events without knowing how many people to plan for. I therefore humbly request that anyone wishing to attend, PLEASE REGISTER as soon as possible.
I can personally assure you that all fees will only be used to enhance your experience, and make this conference even better for you and your family. My goal as the acting secretary has always been to build off what we have been able to accomplish over the last 25 years, and take it to the next level for the next generation of Sikh professionals. Please help me and the other volunteers of NASMDA by visiting the website and completing your registration.
In addition, if you are aware of any vendors who would like to set up a display at the meeting, please have them contact me directly by phone at 352-208-5272 or by email at NASMDA@gmail.com
If you have any issues with registration, please feel free to contact me directly, and I will be happy to assist you in any way possible. I look forward to seeing everyone in Toronto this July.
